CS2 Crosshair Update (September 2026): Everything That Changed
CS2’s September 2026 update rebuilt the crosshair: pixel sizes, 9 styles incl. Dynamic Quad, new console commands and new share codes. Old → new command table, style previews and a free code converter.
Updated 2026-09-30
- Crosshair sizes are now whole pixels at your screen height instead of the old “1/480 of the screen” units.
- There are 9 styles now, including the new default Dynamic Quad and Static Square.
- Several console commands were renamed or removed, and negative gaps are gone.
- Share codes have a new format. Every code made before the update fails with “Invalid or old crosshair code”.
When did it change?
The new crosshair shipped with CS2’s “Rush Hour” update on 22 September 2026. A hotfix on 24 September changed the share-code format once more (adding a half-outline option and the Static Square style), so codes created on the first day also stopped working.
The 9 CS2 crosshair styles
Same settings (8 px length, 4 px gap, 2 px thick, cyan) in every style. “Dynamic” styles open up while you move or shoot; “Static” ones stay fixed. The number is the value for cl_crosshairstyle.

Why does my crosshair look bigger or smaller?
Old length and thickness scaled with your screen height (1/480 of it), while the old gap was 4 + gap raw pixels. At 1080p an old size of 2 was about 4.5 px; now you type the pixels directly. The code also stores the screen height it was made at, and CS2 rescales it if you play at a different resolution — so pick your real resolution when you convert an old code.
How to get your old crosshair back
- Paste your old CSGO-… code or cl_crosshair config into our converter and pick your resolution.
- Copy the new code and import it in CS2: Settings → Crosshair/Scopes → Share or Import.
- If it’s a pixel off, nudge length, gap or thickness in the generator and copy again.
